our mission
The QuadW Foundation provides financial support to people and organizations pursuing innovative ideas and opportunities in the areas of higher education, sarcoma research, personally transforming mission experiences and general philanthropy. Our accomplishments will reflect the light-hearted but whole-hearted spirit that Willie embodied.
Innovative Sarcoma Research
QuadW feels an urgency in finding better treatments for osteosarcoma patients. Our grants have resulted in over one hundred publications – the raw material of progress. We have invested more than $1 million dollars to attract talented young doctors and researchers in an underfunded field. In the past five years, QuadW has funded the Osteosarcoma Institute, a public charity funding the most breakthrough osteosarcoma science to increase treatment options and survival rates.
higher education
QuadW has given students the means to pursue education at the highest level. We have provided over sixty scholarships to help students follow their career dreams, keep up the avocations that fulfill them, and explore the world around them. We promote higher education with a higher purpose.
personally transformative mission
Willie was transformed through his experiences helping others. In that spirit, QuadW established a program to fund participants and organizations that create mission opportunities to make positive impacts in communities across the country and the world.
General Philanthropy
QuadW recognizes the needs of underserved communities in Willie’s hometown of Dallas. We are proud to be supporting a multi-use space in East Dallas that addresses some of these needs.
In addition to their work with QuadW, our board members are involved in several other philanthropic activities. Through our discretionary grant program, QuadW has supported a variety of its board members’ interests in their own communities.
For fifteen years, we asked ourselves one question: What would Willie want?
Since then, we've been answering. Read more about the progress the QuadW Foundation has made with over fifteen years of dedication and research.
Osteosarcoma Institute
The Osteosarcoma Institute (OSI) was established in 2017 with the goal of improving the outcomes of patients with osteosarcoma. It was envisioned by the QuadW Foundation and is now the largest philanthropic funder of research for osteosarcoma in the United States. In addition to reviewing and funding science, OSI has created a one-of-a-kind resource dedicated to supporting those impacted by osteosarcoma – OSI Connect. This free resource connects patients, families, and caregivers with knowledgeable osteosarcoma expert physicians to answer questions about all aspects of the disease. OSI Connect physicians can discuss available treatments, possible side effects, and provide helpful advice for getting the most out of your visits with your treating physician.
