Owenwood Farm & Neighbor Space

Owenwood Farm & Neighbor Space is a dynamic, multi-purpose facility that serves the Far East Dallas community by addressing the causes and effects of poverty.  The versatile and accessible campus serves this community by filling four key service gaps:  education, food deserts, medical deserts, and recreational outlets.

QuadW awarded a multi-year grant to Owenwood that has primarily been used for substantial renovations and improvements to the space, allowing it to better serve the diverse community and mission. QuadW recently renewed the grant to continue supporting programming and the development of the organization as it continues to grow and flourish.

Some of the community partners that work with and operate within Owenwood are:

These combined efforts are something we whole-heartedly believe Willie would have wanted!

DISCRETIONARY grants

Each QuadW board member participates in our discretionary grants program, which provides them the opportunity to support interests that are separate from the principal giving of the Foundation, but remain close to the spirit of the mission. Every year, each board member is offered a $1,000 grant for consideration by the board to be given to an organization of their choice, thereby fostering individual growth in philanthropy, creating new program areas, and focusing on positive community outreach.

THE PAJAMA PROGRAM

The Pajama Program in New York provides new books and pajamas to children in need – living in shelters and often waiting to be adopted. Lauren volunteers with the program and has directed her QuadW discretionary grant to the organization.

Eagle Mount Bozeman

Eagle Mount Bozeman is an adventure camp for children and adolescents with cancer.  Willie and Johnny's good friend, Jennifer Free Waters, is a camp director.  To celebrate friendship and support the kinds of activities Willie enjoyed when he was in treatment, Johnny sent his discretionary grant to Eagle Mount.
